MEET THE FOUNDER & CEO

Larissa Mills, B.A., M.Ed.

Larissa Mills, Founder of The Mental Game Academy based in London, Ontario, is a trailblazing Educational Behavioral Consultant and advocate for holistic athlete development. With over 25 years of coaching experience and a dynamic academic foundation, Larissa has dedicated her career to revolutionizing the way athletes achieve success—on and off the field.

Her academic journey includes a Master of Science in Education from Niagara University, with a focus on behavioral management and brain functionality, alongside a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and English from the University of Western Ontario. A certified expert in behavioral management and special education, Larissa’s qualifications complement her ability to decode the complex interplay between psychology, social behaviors, and learning mechanisms.

"Why do some athletes fall short of their potential?"

Larissa’s coaching legacy began with a powerful question: Why do some athletes fall short of their potential?

This curiosity led her to explore how modern challenges—such as excessive screen time, social media, and evolving parenting styles—impact athletes' mental health, focus, and resilience. She discovered that these factors profoundly influence psychological development and social skills, often inhibiting athletes from thriving in sports and life.

To address these issues, Larissa founded The Mental Game Academy. This innovative program blends research-driven insights with practical strategies to empower athletes to unlock their full potential. Through a unique hybrid educational model, her academy not only helps athletes refine their game but also equips them with life skills like critical thinking, emotional resilience, and focus—tools necessary for long-term success.

Larissa’s commitment extends far beyond sports. As a proud mom of three, she deeply understands the challenges of raising children in the tech era. Passionate about fostering active, balanced lifestyles, she advocates for limiting screen time, encouraging hobbies, and building strong mental health foundations for children. Her ultimate goal is to help create a generation of resilient, well-rounded individuals who thrive in all areas of life.

My Why...

Larissa is a proud mom of 3 kids, who are also growing up in this new tech era. She coaches volleyball and loves all sports. She would like to see children being more athletic, active, finding hobbies and enjoying life.
